Nursery Years
Clayesmore Nursery is a colourful, stimulating place which radiates warmth and care. Experienced staff support and extend each child’s development through a carefully planned curriculum, based on the Early Years Foundation Stage. We ensure that we include all of the pupils whatever their individual needs.
All children bring different skills and experiences to Clayesmore and each child’s uniqueness is celebrated and the emphasis is on developing and channelling strengths and supporting difficulties.
Development is observed and assessed and different ways of learning are recognised. Our commitment is based on the right of every child to grow up safely, to be healthy, to have fun and to achieve. We want them to make a positive contribution to the community that is in turn recognised and celebrated. We value, respect and encourage a positive partnership with families.
The children in Clayesmore Nursery enjoy a huge variety of experiences with the Nursery staff and specialist subject teachers. Apart from their everyday Nursery based activities, the outdoor environment is used extensively. The children have the opportunity to develop water safety and confidence during swimming sessions; they practice early games skills, developing special awareness, control, co-ordination and basic motor skills during P.E. In music sessions they will develop an understanding of rhythm, singing, playing, listening and creating music.
We aim to make the start of school life fun, exciting and stimulating for every child, sending them happily on their way with a positive learning attitude, a sense of achievement and an eagerness to learn more.
