Developing Clayesmore

Everyone who visits Clayesmore recognises that it is a very special place and a wonderful school, a school where pupils are known individually, where abilities in all sorts of different areas count and give pupils a sense of worth, where the relationship between the pupils themselves and between staff and pupils is a major strength.
Over the past 10 years there has been significant investment both in the creation of new buildings and the enhancement and refurbishment of existing ones. This has always been born from a rationalised and well thought out response to existing and forecast need, rather than from a wish list of the “nice to haves”.
The Clayesmore of 2011 is a success story – with pupil numbers up, hugely improved academic results at A-Level & GCSE and success stories across the board – in Music, Drama and the Arts as well as on the Sports fields.
Careful management of the fee income has allowed us to develop our beautiful Iwerne Minster site over the past decade. A new decade now brings us new challenges and opportunities. To ensure we can continue to offer the very best all-round educational experience to the next generation of Clayesmorians the school has drawn up a development plan, from which the 2020 Vision for Clayesmore has evolved to focus on the further building developments which are perceived as essential for the school in the next decade. These objectives should not and cannot be met through the annual increase of schools fees alone, moreover the school believes that the long term future of this development can be secured and brought to fruition far earlier than may otherwise be possible through support across the Clayesmore community: Old Clayesmorians, parents, former-parents, friends, governors and staff.
